If you are both inquisitive and destructive by nature then a career in testing may be for you. Times have changed in the last decade and testers are now qualified technical IT professionals. Sure there can be tedious moments during test preparation phases but there is nothing like the thrill of finding a defect!! Although telling a developer their code is not what it seems does take a certain character, so good communication skills are equally as important.
FDM provides training, which certifies you as a test professional and gives a well rounded introduction to all the different types of testing, and yes there are numerous. Technically, some of the test tools now require a programming background so developers are welcome to join the team as well – it’s not just manual testing!!!
As a career, the options are growing by the day, as more and more companies appreciate the importance of testing – examples such as, Test Manager, Technical Automation specialist, Performance testers and test environment management to name but a few.
